New York Red Bulls defender Noah Eile will be joining the Swedish U21 team next week as part of the international break. Major League Soccer will still have fixtures through the international games, meaning the Red Bulls will be without one of their top defenders for their home game against Miami on Saturday. Eile will join Emil Forsberg, Daniel Edelman and John Tolkin as players unavailable to the club for the next game.

Eile has made three previous appearances for the U21 Swedish team but made his name on the international level with the U17 side in 2019 where he took part in the U17 European Championship. A defender from Malmo in the Swedish League, Eile has made a name for himself as a solid defender and one that is quickly becoming essential to New York’s success in the first month of the season.

Missing Eile means that the Red Bulls will be shorthanded on defense. Vice-captain Sean Nealis has been struggling with injuries over the past two weeks and Andres Reyes has found it difficult to re-establish himself in the starting line-up. There is a strong chance that players like Dylan Nealis and Aidan O’Connor will see significant minutes this coming week.
