New York Red Bulls defender John Tolkin will be joining the U23 US Men’s national team for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics in July and August. The news comes during the roster announcement which sees the 21 year-old being called up to represent the United States for the fourth time in his career.

Tolkin, a homegrown player with the Red Bulls, has come up through the ranks and has become a potential star for the national team. He has made six appearances for country with his last games being in March against the French and Guinean U23 teams. This season, Tolkin has made 12 starts in MLS as an anchor for the club’s backline.

A Chatham native, Tolkin is closing in on 100 appearances in MLS. His career started with New York Red Bulls II, a third division club that has the reputation for producing division one level talent since it’s inception in 2015. Tolkin is just the latest in a long line of players that the team has developed from academy to MLS and finally to national team levels.
