RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has solidified his position with the East German club by signing an extension that will take him through 2026 with the Bundesliga contenders. Rose, who took over for Domenico Tedesco in 2023, led the club to their second consecutive German Cup and guided them to yet another Champions League appearance. This contract will mean that his imprint will be one that lingers long on the club, something they haven’t had in quite some time.

“The club is working hard to make sure that we once again have the best squad possible at our disposal,” said Rose. “We know that we can achieve more and that we want more. We are ambitious and will remain so, all while keeping our focus on what lies ahead.”

What lies ahead is the a potential run at the Bundesliga title. Leipzig has had moments where they appeared to be contenders but fell short of the ultimate prize. Their inclusion in next season’s new UEFA Champions League will also be a major task. The club last year made it out of the group stage and even defeated Real Madrid along the way. Next year they will be involved in the new league format and could be a force given their history in continental play.

“It has always been our aim to consistently develop hungry top talents game after game and season after season,” said Managing Director Johann Plenge. “Marco embodies this claim and at the same time wants unconditional sporting success. In addition, he is an important ambassador four our club and lives the connection to the city, the region and our fans.”
