New York City FC have announced their roster decisions, days after their Eastern Conference Final loss with little changes to the overall roster. The only major decision is the declined option of injured midfielder Andres Perea with the potential of future negotiations.

City announced the decline of two lesser known player options in Prince Amponsah and Alex Rondo. Both players made no appearances for the club in 2025 on the first team level but significant minutes with the reserve team in New York City FC II.

Thiago Martins, Tayvon Gray, Kevin O’Toole, Max Murray, Tomas Romero and Strahinja Tanasijevic all had their options picked up, meaning we should expect to see them in a City uniform in 2026. Justin Haak and Maxi Moralez are both out of contract and will be MLS free agents in January.

NYCFC’s current roster is:

Goalkeepers: Matt Freese, Greg Ranjitsingh, Tomas Romero

Defenders: Drew Baiera, Nico Cavallo, Raul Gustavo, Tayvon Gray, Mijta Ilenic, Thiago Martins, Max Murray, Strahinja Tanasijevic, Kevin O’Toole

Midfielders: Jacob Arroyave, Maximo Carrizo, Nico Fernandez, Peter Molinari, Aiden O’Neill, Keaton Parks, James Sands, Jonny Shore, Hannes Wolf

Forwards: Julian Fernandez, Malachi Jones, Talles Magno, Alonso Martinez, Jovan Mijatovic, Seymour Reid, Zidane Yanez
