HARRISON, N.J. – A second half goal by the unstoppable youngster Julian Hall was all Red Bull needed to dispatch New England Revolution on Saturday afternoon, setting them on a two-win start to the 2026 season. Head coach Michael Bradley rolled out the exact same starting XI as he did last week, with similar results as the team pushed the Revs into a defensive shell for a majority of the game.
To their credit, New England was difficult to break down in the first half. Their physicality saw them throw their bodies in front of crosses, clog the midfield and press for a counter attack. Red Bull was up to the task and did well with recovering the ball after many of their attempts in the final third. Cade Cowell continued to be the engine for his club as he pushed down the right wing, wearing down the Revolution defense.
While it was scoreless at the break, New York didn’t let up the pressure as they came out with the same intensity to start the second 45 minutes. It took less than 10 minutes to find the game-winning effort as a combination between young players Matthew Dos Santos and Adri Mehmeti found the head of Hall in front of goal for the strike. From there Red Bull continued to pour on the pressure with dangerous free kicks from captain Emil Forsberg and dangerous passes from newly minted designated player Jorge Ruvalcaba.
New York was unable to find the second goal but their strong defensive play kept the clean sheet, sending the fans home happy in the home opener of the 2026 campaign. Red Bull will return to Sports Illustrated Stadium next Sunday for a late afternoon clash with CF Montreal.
