HARRISON, N.J. – Red Bull New York score twice in the second half and hold on to a two-goal cushion to pick up their first in since week 2 against New England Revolution this Saturday night over FC Cincinnati. The game was an entertaining showing from both teams as they attacked freely, showcasing the better parts of the offense.
Red Bull opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Julian Hall netted his fifth goal of the 2026 campaign. A ball from Cade Cowell found the young striker as the two continue to connect in the opponent’s final third. Red bull continued to push but left themselves susceptible to the counter attack. It was Pavel Bucha who took advantage of one of those moments, shooting from the top of the box and equalizing the game.
It took little time into the second half for Red Bull to pull ahead for good with a free kick from captain Emil Forsberg. It was the Swedish international’s first goal of 2026, giving his club the lead and also restoring their confidence. The club continued to push on and found the decisive third goal in 66th minute. Cowell played a ball into the box, destined for Hall’s feet. The ball took a deflection off of defender Kyle Smith, doubling Red Bull’s lead.
Cincinnati, to their credit, refused to surrender and clawed a goal back in the 72nd minute. Both clubs continued to push with last-minute defending proving to be the final deciding factor. Mohammed Sofo scored the final goal in stoppage time to give Red Bull a 4-2 final score.
The win improves New York’s record to 3-2-1 and their first win in their last four games. Next up is a difficult trip as the club travels to the Nu Stadium to play Lionel Messi and Inter Miami next weekend.
