New York City FC have announced that defender Kevin O’Toole has signed an extension with the club through the 2028/29 campaign. The 27 year-old Montclair, NJ native has played the last five seasons with City, winning the 2022 Campeones Cup, and making 90 total appearances.
“Signing another contract with New York City FC means a great deal to me,” said O’Toole about his decision to extend his stay with the club. “The club has continued to put their trust in me and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep representing New York City. My mentality has always been to put the team first, and I’ll continue doing everything I can to help this group compete for trophies.”
O’Toole has helped solidify the defenses alongside the likes of Thiago Martins and Tayvon Gray. This season he has already made 10 appearances while garnering an assist. Currently City are in eighth place and intend on pushing up the playoff ladder once the season resumes next Wednesday in Columbus.
“Kevin has earned the trust of his teammates and coaches,” said Sporting Director Todd Dunivant. “Kevin will continue to be an important member of our group moving forward.”
