New York Red Bulls aren’t done revamping before the 2025 season as they announced the signing of 20 year-old forward Wiktor Bogacz. The Polish international has played for Miedz Legnica where he started on the reserve team before making 25 starts on the first team between 2023 and 2024.
“He is a promising young striker with a lot of potential,” said Head of Sport Jochen Schneider. “His qualities will help our club achieve our goals for the future.”
Bogacz joins a club that is riding high off of finishing the season as MLS Cup runners up. Since the ultimate goal is raising the trophy, the club wasted little time in bringing in key players to achieve that goal. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was the first veteran signing and was followed up with defender Alexander Hack. The updated squad appears poised to compete in 2025 without forgoing many of the developmental elements that has made them a successful squad.
Bogacz is a continuation of the developmental track. While there is no guarantee that he will produce at the level the team expects, it is safe to assume that the club hopes to sharpen his skills into becoming the type of striker that will produce for the club. It is a position that has greatly lacked in recent years with Lewis Morgan being the most productive as a converted forward.
“Wiktor possesses great qualities that we look for in our strikers,” said head coach Sandro Schwarz. “We cannot wait to have him on the pitch with us and to work with him to keep helping him reach his full potential.”
The striker’s contract is a four-year deal that will keep him with the club until the end of the 2028 season with an option for 2029. Bogacz will take a U-22 player spot as the team still looks to clear room in their designated player positions.
