New York Red Bulls have announced that a 13-year partnership with Sports Illustrated Tickets for the naming rights and ticketing partner of the now former Red Bull Arena. In it’s place, the 25 thousand-seat venue will now be called Sports Illustrated Stadium.

“Our shared values and unwavering commitment to delivering an unparalleled guest experience will further Sports Illustrated Stadium as a premier destination for sports and entertainment in the metropolitan area,” said Red Bulls General Manager and President Marc de Grandpre. “We are truly honored to call Sports Illustrated Stadium the home of Red Bull New York, and together, we eagerly anticipate creating unforgettable memories for all fans and guests.”

This agreement, which also includes ticketing for Gotham FC, will see the iconic Red Bull name disappear for the first time ever from the Harrison, N.J. stadium. Opening in 2010, Red Bull Arena has housed not just the New York Red Bulls but also local soccer games and events. It has also become the permanent home of GothamFC and has housed NYCFC games as well.

While the move is somewhat uncommon for Red Bull, it was an expected move as the team and stadium announced their willingness to find a partner several years ago. Sports Illustrated Stadium is under the ownership of the Hudson County Improvement Authority since 2016, following a tax dispute with Red Bull. The current lease agreement has the Red Bulls as a permanent resident through 2038 with options going as far as 2058. This new announcement further separates the two parties but also brings them together in a more inclusive manner than simply as land owners.
